Specifications: Tanker 9 is a 1996 Freightliner unit with a two person air conditioned cab powered by a Detroit 60 series 400 horsepower diesel engine with a 5 speed Allison Automatic Transmission. The vehicle carries 3000 gallons of water in a poly tank and is supplied with a 1000 gallon per minute Hale single stage pump. It hosts a 5kw Honda Generator with telescoping scene lights. The unit has a 150 foot 1-1/2″ trash line, two cross lays. It carries several hundred feet of 3 inch supply line and several quick disconnect short shots. The unit also carries and array of small tools and a 3000 gallon portable folding tank. The unit was rehabbed in 2012 with a complete exterior makeover, new LED lights and a rear chevron warning package. The unit was dedicated to former UCVFD Fire Chief David M. Brinkley after he died in the line of duty in 1998.
