Installation of Officers for 2014
On February 22nd, the members of the United Communities VFD celebrated their Installation of Officers for the year 2014, this year marks our 48th year in service. Awards were handed out to last year’s administrative, suppression and EMS officers, as well as several others, along with recognizing the top responders for the past year.
Top suppression responders were Chris Tona Sr., Mike Levasseur, Chris Tona Jr., Jimmy Kirby, Mike Shelton, Brad Childress, Jake Bossert, Billy Finlay, Jeff Utter back, Jim Graham, Ian Richards, and Rick Ringenbach. Mike Shelton received the Firefighter of the Year Award, and Jimmy Kirby received the Suppression Training Award. A combined Chiefs Award was presented to James Graham, Tim Thomas, Chris Tona Jr, Jeff Utterback, Mike Levasseur, and Matt Graham for the maintenance on all of the apparatus.
The top EMS responders were Jake Bossert, Kathie King, Bob Pryor, Ian Richards, John Bossert and Katlyn McLanigan. Ian Richards received the EMS Training Award for 2000 hours of training.
Presidents Awards were given to Kent Whalen and Pat Dempsey. Kent Whalen, Charles “Buck” Ferrin, Howard Gardener, Mark Dillon, John Roberts, Peggy and Kirk Falk, Teri Levasseur, and Jenna Childress were all recognized for their time and assistance given this past year. Several members were awarded with pins for years of service: Lisa Tona 15 years, Brad Childress 10 Years, Pat Neil 10 years, Ron Siarnicki 10 years, Mike Levasseur 5 years, and Rick Ringenbach for 5 years.
