House Fire
Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 5:17 hrs, United Communities VFD was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 9-14 box. Crews from Station 9, 1, 2, 3, and Queen Anne’s County EMS responded. Engine 91 arrived on location, Officer 903 advised smoke showing then upgraded to working fire. Officer 901 arrived on location and assumed command. The crew from engine 91 entered the home, and quickly extinguished the fire. Crews from Tower 1 and Tanker 1 assisted with ventilation and over haul. During the overhaul the family cat was found and returned to the homeowner unharmed, several rooms were damaged by the fire and the situation was placed under control within 25 minutes, crew from Engine 91 remained on the scene and assisted the State Fire Marshall, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
