 <![CDATA[If you are interested in being part of the boat crew, or a boat operator for the new fireboat, the training classes have been scheduled.&nbsp;The boat orientation and crewmember class will start September 12th at 09:00 hrs.&nbsp;This class is all day, and lunch will be provided.&nbsp;All members are encouraged to attend.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
The boat operator class is scheduled for September 24th and 25th this class is limited to 8 people.&nbsp;So if you are interested, currently meet the qualifications, or you will meet the qualifications by the time of this class please let Chief Tona know.

 <![CDATA[With renovations at the station continuing, the new Chiefs office is complete.&nbsp;To put in a new dayroom for the members downstairs, the Chief&amp;rsquo;s office was moved to the upstairs adjacent to the President&amp;rsquo;s office and the meeting/classroom. &nbsp;The dayroom makeover has begun and once that room is complete the members will have a comfortable place to hang out.  <![CDATA[UCVFD is proud to announce the purchase of a new ambulance. This unit will be replacing our current AMB-9. This process started back in Nov 2009. &nbsp;The Ambulance Committee looked into three different vendors before choosing a 2011 Ford F-450 4x4, with a Horton box. &nbsp;Now both units will be the same make and model allowing us to have consistency in the patient compartment, which will make it easier and more efficient for EMS providers.  	<title>UCVFD places in service two RAD-57 Monitors</title>

 <![CDATA[The United Communities VFD is placing in service two Rad-57 Monitors that where purchased with grant money the department received in May 2010. These monitors will be able to check an individual SpO2, which is the Oxygen saturation in someone&amp;rsquo;s blood; also this monitor is capable of checking for SpCO, which is Carbon Monoxide. Carbon Monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas and is the leading cause of poisoning in the United States, and a common hazard for first responders. These monitors will be utilized during rehab situations and possible CO poisonings. This department is one of two departments in Queen Anne&amp;rsquo;s County that carry this type of monitor. These monitors will be carried on our first line ambulance and our first line engine....]]>

 	<title>Updated Photos of Classroom/Meeting Room</title>

 <![CDATA[Here are the updated photos of the meeting/classroom that the members have been working on.&nbsp; We are still awaiting new pictures for the walls,&nbsp;and a few other items to be completed. &nbsp;This room is equipped with&nbsp;an&nbsp;audio/visual monitor, pull down screen, and new tables and chairs.&nbsp; This equipment will&nbsp;aid&nbsp;with teaching, and meetings within the department, local community associations and other organizations. The station&nbsp;is going thru a make over which started with the meeting/classroom and the building of the new Chiefs office, which is&nbsp;almost complete.&nbsp;&nbsp;Downstairs, the old Chiefs office is being converted to a&nbsp;new day room for the members to hang out and relax in.&nbsp; A thank you goes out to all the members, and non-members for helping with this long awaited project.
